Trevor Plouffe homered and scored three runs, and Carl Pavano recorded his first win since July 7 as the Minnesota Twins collected 16 hits and drew four bases-loaded walks en route to a 13-5 triumph over the host Los Angeles Angels on Friday.

Jason Kubel and Danny Valencia each recorded three hits and two RBIs for Minnesota, which won for only the fourth time in 15 games. Luke Hughes and Drew Butera also drove in two runs apiece.

Erick Aybar tripled twice, scored a run and drove in another for the Angels, who fell 4 1/2 games behind Texas in the American League West.

Plouffe opened the scoring with a one-out solo blast in the first inning and the Twins rallied for five runs in the fourth to take a 6-2 lead. Angels starter Tyler Chatwood (6-10) issued three of his five walks in the frame, including one to Kubel with the bases loaded.

Jerome Williams came on and yielded an RBI single by Michael Cuddyer and walked Valencia with the bags filled to force in another run. Fernando Rodney loaded the bases with none out in the ninth before walking Rene Tosoni, who also scored three times, and Hughes.

Pavano (7-11) allowed four runs - three earned - in 6 2/3 innings for his first victory in six decisions. Pavano, who struck out four without a walk, improved to 2-6 over his last 12 starts.
