Brett Myers was outstanding through eight innings and Jeff Keppinger homered to carry the Houston Astros to a 4-1 victory over the division rival St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday.

Pedro Feliz drove in a pair of runs and Humberto Quintero added an RBI as Houston beat the Cardinals at Minute Maid Park for the eighth time in 11 tries.

Myers (6-6) allowed just a run on five hits while striking out five and walking none to continue his dominance at home, where he moved to 5-0 on the season.

Matt Lindstrom came on during the ninth and worked around a pair of walks to close things out for his 21st save.

Matt Holliday drove in a run with a groundout and Albert Pujols and Jon Jay each had two hits apiece as the Cardinals have now dropped five of seven.

The Astros struck early and didn’t look back, scoring three in their first at-bats. Keppinger added to the total with his third home run of the campaign in the fifth off starter Jeff Suppan.

Suppan (0-5), who was acquired by the Cardinals in June, remained winless after giving up four runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings.
