Ryan Suter had a goal and an assist to highlight a four-goal second period for the Dallas Stars, who rallied for a 4-3 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night.
Alexander Radulov, playing in his 500th NHL game, scored the game-winner and Jason Robertson and Luke Glendening also scored for Dallas, which moved into a tie with Edmonton for the second wild card spot in Western Conference with 63 points.
Jake Oettinger made 28 saves for the Stars, who improved to 20-7-1 at home and 12-4-1 over their last 17 games.
Arthur Kaliyev had two goals and Phillip Danault also scored for Los Angeles, which had its six-game road winning streak snapped. Cal Petersen finished with 39 saves.
Los Angeles took a 1-0 lead at the 3:58 mark of the first period when Danault roofed Trevor Moore's centering pass between the circles for his 16th goal of the season.
Glendening tied it with his eighth goal of the season 43 seconds into the start of a wild six-goal second period.
The Kings answered with a pair of goals by Kaliyev, the first multi-goal game of the 20-year-old
right winger's career. The first came on a rush up the right side that saw Kaliyev fire a wrist shot through the legs of Joe Pavelski at the top right circle inside the far post. The second came on a power play on a one-timer from the top of the right circle off a Sean Durzi feed to make it 3-1.
But Dallas answered with three goals in the span of 5:34 to take a 4-3 lead.
Robertson started the streak when he weaved into the bottom of the left circle and whipped a wrist shot past Petersen's glove side for his 23rd goal of the season. Suter followed at the 19:01 mark with his fifth goal of the season with a one-timer from above the left circle. Radulov then put the Stars in front for good with 13 seconds left in the period with a power-play goal, chipping in a rebound of a Suter shot that bounced right to the left doorstep off the end boards.
The Kings pulled Petersen with 1:50 left for an extra attacker and nearly tied it on a Kaliyev one-timer from the right circle that bounced off Oettinger's left arm and then the right post.
