Brock Boeser scored 34 seconds into overtime Tuesday to give the visiting Vancouver Canucks a 3-2 win over Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Canucks caught Pittsburgh in a line change for a three-on-two. Boeser carried the puck in and snapped a shot from the left circle, beating goaltender Casey DeSmith on the short side.

Ben Hutton and Brandon Sutter also scored for Vancouver, which has won three straight. Tim Schaller added two assists, and goaltender Anders Nilsson made 26 saves.

Jake Guentzel and Carl Hagelin scored for Pittsburgh, with Hagelin tying it in the third period. DeSmith stopped 23 shots.

The Penguins are 2-1-1 at home as they next head to a four-game, 12-day road trip through Canada, including a rematch with the Canucks on Oct. 27.

Pittsburgh took a 1-0 lead at 6:24 of the first period. In his own end, Guentzel picked off the puck as it was passed to Schaller and took off on a two-on-one with linemate Sidney Crosby. Guentzel kept the puck, and from the right dot, beat Nilsson between his right arm and body for an unassisted goal.

At 8:55 of the first, Hutton scored his first of the season from above the left hash mark for a 1-1 tie. DeSmith was scrambling to get up from the ice and being out of position after attempting to stop a shot from the point that got deflected behind the net, where Markus Granlund quickly got it back out front.

Sutter, a former Penguins player, gave the Canucks a 2-1 lead at 18:56 of the first during a delayed penalty. Schaller sent the puck through the crease laterally from DeSmith's left, and Sutter slammed it behind DeSmith from a sharp angle on the other side.

After a scoreless second, Guentzel deflected a puck past Nilsson at 15:27 of the third, but it was immediately ruled no goal because Guentzel's stick was well above the height of the crossbar.

The Penguins got the tying goal with 3:14 left in regulation. On a two-on-one, Phil Kessel finessed a pass that gave Hagelin an easy tap-in at the right post to make it 2-2.
