NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- In a Western Conference quarterfinal series matching teams which combined to lose their last 10 regular season games, the Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators required two overtimes to produce a winner.

Defenseman Duncan Keith ended it for Chicago with a slapper at 7:49 of the second overtime, giving the Blackhawks a 4-3 win and a 1-0 series lead.

Making his return from a 21-game absence with a fractured left collarbone, Chicago right winger Patrick Kane set up two power-play goals in the second period to help his team rally from an early three-goal deficit.

Backup goalie Scott Darling stopped all 42 shots he faced in relief of Corey Crawford to earn the win for the Blackhawks, which dropped their final four regular season games.

Nashville, which ended the regular season with six straight defeats, led 3-0 after one period and got 38 saves from goalie Pekka Rinne, but failed to win for the first time since clinching a playoff spot March 28.

Nashville center Colin Wilson broke the scoring seal at 6:07 of the first period, beating defenseman Michal Rozsival down the left wing and beating Crawford up high with a wrister.

Predators left winger Viktor Stalberg made it 2-0 at 17:20 when center Calle Jarnkrok took the puck away from Crawford behind the net and fed Stalberg, who stuffed the puck into an open net.

Wilson upped the advantage to 3-0 with a power-play goal at 19:33, deflecting a wrister by defenseman Seth Jones as the sellout crowd erupted yet again.

That was it for Crawford, who was replaced by Darling for the second period. Perhaps inspired by the change, Chicago stormed back to tie the score.

Defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson scored off a great feed from behind the net by center Teuvo Teravainen at 1:43. Left winger Patrick Sharp tallied on a power play, stuffing his own rebound by goalie Pekka Rinne at 8:32.

Center Jonathan Toews equalized on the power play at 13:50, poking a rebound through Rinne's legs to quiet the once-raucous crowd.

NOTES: Chicago C Antoine Vermette, a trade deadline acquisition from Arizona, was scratched. Vermette managed only three assists in 19 games for the Blackhawks. ... Nashville D Cody Franson, picked up in February from Toronto, was scratched with an upper-body injury. LW Eric Nystrom (lower-body injury) remains idle. ...
