Lightning 5, Ducks 3: Brian Boyle recorded a pair of goals while Valtteri Flippula scored once and set up two others as Tampa Bay rolled over visiting Anaheim.
Ryan Callahan contributed a goal and an assist, Nikita Kucherov scored for the third straight game and Ben Bishop turned aside 25 shots for his 27th victory. Captain Steven Stamkos and Brett Connolly each registered two assists for the Lightning, who have won 11 of their last 12 games on home ice.
Captain Ryan Getzlaf scored his 200th career goal and added an assist while defensemen Sami Vatanen (power play) and Eric Brewer also tallied for the Ducks. Frederik Andersen allowed five goals on 22 shots before leaving in the third period with an apparent injury and Ilya Bryzgalov made one save in relief to go along with an assist.
Defenseman Victor Hedman eluded two defenders at the top of the right circle, went around another below the goal line and fed Boyle in front to open the scoring 2:55 into the contest. Filppula was left alone in the slot to knock home Callahan’s deflected pass at 13:42 and Kucherov redirected Tyler Johnson’s pass at the right post with 1:08 left in the first period.
Corey Perry’s centering pass went off Getzlaf’s skate before caroming in off Boyle’s foot 4:49 into the second, but Boyle flipped in a rebound after a scramble at 14:27 to restore a three-goal lead. Callahan swept in the rebound of Stamkos' shot on an odd-man rush 6:14 into the final frame for a 5-1 lead.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Boyle also scored twice against Arizona on Oct. 28. … Andersen was replaced after the goal cage was knocked over him with 9:58 to go, but skated off under his own power. The team said Andersen would be evaluated on Monday, but didn't feel that he's seriously injured. … Anaheim LW Rene Bourque was scratched with Getzlaf returning to the lineup after missing the last two games with a lower-body injury. … Tampa Bay D Jason Garrison missed his second straight game with a lower-body injury.
