Blackhawks 4, Blues 3 (OT): Patrick Kane scored his second goal of the contest 11:17 into overtime as host Chicago evened its Western Conference first-round series with St. Louis at two games apiece.

Kane, who also had an assist, skated up the left wing and looked toward a cutting Ben Smith before focusing again on the net. Last season's Conn Smythe Trophy winner used Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk as a screen and wristed a shot past Ryan Miller for his third career playoff overtime goal.

Andrew Shaw and Bryan Bickell also tallied for the reigning Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks, who dropped a 4-3 decision in triple overtime in Game 1 and suffered an overtime loss by the same score in Game 2. Captain Jonathan Toews notched two assists and Corey Crawford finished with 30 saves.

Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice to claim the NHL lead with four goals and Maxim Lapierre tallied to forge a tie with four seconds remaining in the second period. Miller turned aside 30 shots for the Blues, who look to rebound when they host Game 5 on Friday.

With the contest tied at 2-2, defenseman Alex Pietrangelo blocked a shot and alertly bounced a lead pass off the right-wing boards to Tarasenko. The 22-year-old Russian settled the puck at the blue line before skating in and beating Crawford from the right faceoff circle. Bickell knotted the contest with 3:52 left as he deftly deflected defenseman Michal Rozsival's shot from the point past Miller.

GAME NOTEBOOK: St. Louis captain David Backes remained sidelined after suffering an upper-body injury following the illegal hit by Chicago D Brent Seabrook in the third period of Game 2. Seabrook served the second contest of his three-game suspension. ... Tarasenko, who also scored during a power play with 1:09 left in the second period, is the second-youngest Blue to record two goals in a single playoff game. Rod Brind'Amour accomplished the feat at 19 years of age. ... After Shaw cleaned up a rebound while on a man advantage 8:40 into the second period to open the scoring, Kane doubled the lead 7 1/2 minutes later by gaining a step on St. Louis RW T.J. Oshie and shoveling home D Johnny Oduya's brilliant centering feed from along the left-wing boards.
