No. 9 Louisville 86, South Florida 47: Wayne Blackshear scored 16 points off the bench as the visiting Cardinals rolled to an easy victory over the Bulls in American Athletic Conference play.
Montrezl Harrell added 14 points and 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double in five games for Louisville (17-3, 6-1). Luke Hancock added 14 points, Russ Smith scored 12 and Mangok Mathiang had 10 points.
Chris Perry scored 10 points for South Florida (10-9, 1-5), which lost for the seventh time in nine games. The Bulls shot just 36.4 percent from the field and committed 23 turnovers while posting a season-low point output.
The contest was tied at 4 in the opening minutes before the Cardinals began to pull away with a 23-5 surge. Blackshear and Harrell each had 10 in the half as Louisville lead 45-22 at the break.
The Cardinals scored the first seven of the second half to push the lead to 30 and the advantage reached 75-35 on Smith’s 3-pointer with just more than seven minutes left. The largest lead was 44 and Louisville went 12-of-23 from 3-point range while winning its fourth straight game.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Louisville PG Chris Jones (oblique) missed his third straight game. … Bulls leading scorer Victor Rudd tallied just six points on 3-of-8 shooting. … The Cardinals racked up 13 steals, led by three from G Terry Rozier.
