Mouphtaou Yarou scored 15 points and Dominic Cheek added 13 as Villanova dominated the second half en route to a 68-43 victory over visiting Boston University on Tuesday.
Maalik Wayns struggled through the first half but managed to finish with 10 points for the Wildcats (6-4), who had dropped two straight and four of five.
Villanova could not hit anything in the first half, going 6-of-31 (19 percent) from the floor, including 2-of-12 beyond the arc. Wayns was the worst of the bunch, struggling to a 1-for-8 effort as the Wildcats trailed their America East opponent at the break, 26-23.
But coach Jay Wright fixed something in the locker room, because Villanova came out on fire on both ends. The Wildcats outscored the Terriers 25-7 in the first 10 minutes to jump into the lead and never looked back, extending the run out to 41-13 after Darrun Hilliard converted a three-point play with 4:28 remaining.
Boston University star Darryl Partin came in averaging 22.7 points but was held to six points on 2-of-13 shooting. The Terriers (4-7) have dropped three straight.
The Wildcats ended up shooting 19-of-34 (56 percent) in the second half.
