The Nittany Lions scored 18 of the game’s first 24 points on the way to a 70-49 victory over Furman Sunday at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pa.

Penn State (6-1) got off to a hot-shooting start in the first half, shooting 60 percent (15-for-25) from the field and 72.7 percent (8-for-11) from 3-point range. Although their shooting cooled off a bit in the second half, the Nittany Lions still wound up with 54.2 percent shooting (26-for-48) for the game.

Talor Battle scored 19 points and had six assists for Penn State, and David Jackson added 16 points. Jeff Brooks had 13 points and six rebounds, meaning three starters had two-thirds of Penn State’s scoring.
