Kawhi Leonard scored 31 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Jonas Valanciunas added 23 points off the bench as the Toronto Raptors defeated the visiting Philadelphia 76ers 129-112 on Tuesday night.
Kyle Lowry added 20 points and 12 assists for his fifth double-double of the season for Toronto, and Pascal Siakam finished with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Serge Ibaka chipped in with 16 points and eight rebounds, and Danny Green scored 10 points, putting all five starters in double digits in points.
It was the sixth straight home victory to open the season for the Raptors, a franchise best. They also have defeated the 76ers in 12 consecutive home games.
Joel Embiid scored 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Philadelphia, and Ben Simmons finished with 11 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds -- along with 11 turnovers. Robert Covington added 15 points while JJ Redick (13) and Mike Muscala (12) combined for 25 off the bench.
Leonard, who was rested Monday in Toronto's loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, scored 11 points in the third quarter and the Raptors led by as many as 26 points en route to a 19-point advantage entering the fourth quarter.
The 76ers trimmed the lead to nine on Covington's 3-pointer with 7:29 left in the fourth quarter. Embiid's 3-pointer had the lead down to six with 3:30 to play. Ibaka countered with a jump shot, Siakam made a layup, and when Leonard hit a 3-pointer with 1:56 to play, Toronto led by 13 at 124-111.
The Raptors led 35-26 after the first quarter with Valanciunas scoring eight points and Siakam adding four points and five rebounds. Muscala led the 76ers with seven points.
The Raptors led by 17 points when Lowry made two free throws with 1:16 left in the first half. Embiid finished the first-half scoring with a dunk and a free throw and Toronto led 67-53.
Valanciunas had 15 first-half points while Lowry and Leonard added 12 each. Embiid led the 76ers with 13.
Embiid opened the third quarter with a 3-pointer. Toronto came back to lead by 18 on Leonard's two free throws on Embiid's fourth foul.
After Leonard made two straight layups and a free throw, Lowry added a 3-pointer to stretch the lead to 26 with 4:51 to play in the third. The Raptors led 105-86 after three quarters.
