Mavericks 108, Jazz 101: Dirk Nowitzki scored 31 points on 12-of-14 shooting as visiting Dallas slipped past Utah.

Monta Ellis added 16 points and 11 assists for the Mavericks, who remain percentage points behind seventh-place Memphis in the Western Conference playoff race. Devin Harris added 12 points and Wayne Ellington scored 11 for Dallas, which went 13-of-21 from 3-point range.

Trey Burke scored 20 points and Enes Kanter added 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Jazz, who fell into last place in the West. Derrick Favors added 15 points and Alec Burks had 13 points and eight assists.

Utah trailed 93-92 after a three-point play by Favors with 4:50 left before Dallas rolled off a 13-4 run. A 3-pointer by Jose Calderon gave the Mavericks a 101-93 lead with 3:04 remaining and Nowitzki finished a 4-of-4 performance from 3-point range by burying one with 1:54 remaining to give the Mavericks a 10-point advantage.

Nowitzki had 16 first-half points as Dallas took a 55-53 lead into the break. Utah rolled off 10 straight points to take a three-point lead in the final minute of the third quarter before the Mavericks scored five straight to take an 80-78 edge into the final stanza.
