Cody Bellinger hit a home run, and Max Muncy drove in the tying and go-ahead runs as the Los Angeles Dodgers extended their winning streak to four games with a 7-6 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday to earn a three-game series sweep.
Bellinger hit his 14th home run, matching a major league record before the start May. The Brewers' Christian Yelich also has 14 home runs. Albert Pujols (2006) and Alex Rodriguez (2007) also share the mark.
Dodgers starter Rich Hill went six innings in his first outing of the season, recovering from a rough start to retire the last 13 batters he faced. Hill, who was on the injured list with a sprained right knee, gave up five runs, but just one was earned.
The Pirates' Melky Cabrera hit home runs in his first two at-bats of the game, the fifth multi-homer game of his career and his first since July of 2015 as a member of the Chicago White Sox. Cabrera entered with just one home run on the season. He finished with four hits.
Pirates starter Trevor Williams gave up five runs on eight hits over six innings with one walk and six strikeouts. It was a season high in both runs and hits for the right-hander, who entered with a 2.59 ERA.
Cabrera gave the Pirates a 1-0 lead two batters into the game with a home run off Hill, but the Dodgers answered in their half of the opening inning with Bellinger's sacrifice fly.
The Pirates scored four times in the second inning, starting things when third baseman Muncy had a throwing error on Elias Diaz's leadoff ground ball. Pablo Reyes and Adam Frazier each drove in a run, and Cabrera capped off the inning with a two-run homer.
Bellinger's home run to right field, his ninth at home this season, cut the Pirates' lead to 5-2. Corey Seager got the Dodgers within a run with a two-run double in the fifth inning, and Muncy's RBI single one batter later tied it.
Muncy had an RBI single to left-center in the seventh for a 6-5 lead, and Bellinger made it 7-5 with his own RBI single. The Pirates got within a run in the eighth on an RBI single from Josh Bell.
Julio Urias (2-1) gave up a run over two innings of relief, while Kenley Jansen put two aboard in the ninth but struck out Gregory Polanco for his 10th save. Pirates right-hander Richard Rodriguez (0-2) gave up two runs while recording one out while taking the loss.
