White Sox 2, Indians 1:
Gordon Beckham homered and doubled as host Chicago withstood two rain delays of more than 2 1/2 hours to beat Cleveland for the second straight night.

Conor Gillaspie delivered an RBI single and reached base three times and Alexei Ramirez had two hits as the White Sox improved to 5-1 at home against the Indians to climb back to the .500 mark. Scott Carroll (2-3) worked three scoreless innings after rain limited ace Chris Sale to three innings and Ronald Belisario got the final three outs for his third save

Ryan Raburn collected a pair of hits and Mike Aviles knocked in the only run for Cleveland, which has scored only three times in the first two games of the series. Justin Masterson (2-4) gave up one run on four hits in his three-inning stint to fall to 5-1 in his last seven starts against Chicago.

The game was delayed 41 minutes before the first pitch and another 1:58 prior to the start of the fourth inning, forcing Sale and Masterson from the game with Chicago leading 1-0 courtesy of Gillaspie's RBI single in the third. Beckham doubled the lead in the fifth, driving a hanging breaking ball from Mark Lowe into the seats in left for his fourth homer.

The Indians couldn't push a run across despite five hits off Carroll over three innings but finally got on the scoreboard when Lonnie Chisenhall and David Murphy opened the seventh with singles off Scott Downs before Mike Aviles' grounder off Jake Petricka plated Chisenhall.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Beckham doubled in the first inning to extend his hitting streak to eight games. ... Indians LF Michael Brantley has hit safely in 13 straight and 24 of his last 25 games. ... Sale, who struck out four in three hitless innings, was denied the chance to become the first pitcher since 1900 to allow one hit or less in three straight starts of at least six innings due to the second rain delay. ... Cleveland placed 1B Nick Swisher (knee) on the 15-day disabled list and C Carlos Santana on the 7-day concussion list.
