Prince Fielder belted a three-run homer and Shaun Marcum pitched seven scoreless innings as the visiting Milwaukee Brewers won their third straight game, 6-0 over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday night.
Marcum (2-1) allowed four hits, walked one and struck out four to win his second straight start. He also had a bunt single and an RBI to send Pittsburgh to its third consecutive defeat.
Yuniesky Betancourt added an RBI double and Carlos Gomez had a sacrifice fly against Pirates starter Kevin Correia (2-1), who had a no-hitter through five innings before the Brewers struck for four runs in the sixth.
Fielder delivered the big blow with his third homer of the season, a two-out blast to deep center to make it 4-0 after Marcum had escaped a two-on, no-out jam in the bottom of the fifth.
Pittsburgh’s Jose Tabata went 0-for-2 to snap his hitting streak at 10 games. Correia was charged with six runs - four earned - on five hits in six-plus innings.
