Santiago Vescovi scored a career-high 20 points and Tennessee controlled the paint in an 82-61 win over Arkansas on Tuesday night in Knoxville, Tenn.

Vescovi, a freshman guard from Uruguay who enrolled in school in late December, made 6 of 10 shots and added eight assists. He had 13 points in the first half in helping the Volunteers (14-10, 6-5 SEC) to a 40-23 lead.

Tennessee shot 49.1 percent, making 20 of 37 2-pointers to outscore Arkansas 40-16 in the paint while winning the rebounding battle 40-29 against the undersized Razorbacks, who don't start a player taller than 6-feet-7.

It was the most lopsided loss of the season for the Razorbacks (16-8, 4-7), who had lost their previous two games in overtime and hadn't been beaten by more than seven points under first-year coach Eric Musselman.

The Razorbacks had only trailed by double digits for 11 minutes in their first 23 games but were down by 10-plus for the final 27 minutes on Tuesday.

Already shorthanded with sophomore guard Isaiah Joe out because of recent knee surgery, Arkansas made matters worse by getting into foul trouble early.

Adrio Bailey and Reggie Chaney, Arkansas' tallest starters, both picked up two fouls in the first seven minutes, and with them on the bench Tennessee faced zero resistance inside and built as much as a 19-point edge in the opening half.

It also didn't help that Mason Jones, the SEC scoring leader at 20.5 points per game, had a second straight off night. He was 1-for-10 from the field for only nine points, coming off the bench for the first time this season after going 3-for-14 in an OT loss at Missouri on Saturday.

Jimmy Whitt Jr. had 19 but was just 4 of 13 from the field for the Razorbacks, who shot a season-low 30.6 percent.

Five Vols scored in double figures, with Jordan Bowden tallying 16, John Fulkerson contributing 14, Yves Pons scoring 12 and Olivier Nkamhoua adding 10.
