Freshman LaDontae Henton had another big game, and Providence beat New England rival Boston College 64-57 on Thursday at Dunkin' Donuts Center for its fourth consecutive win.
The Friars (8-2) have won 17 straight non-conference home games. They snapped a three-game losing streak against Boston College.
The rebuilding Eagles (2-7) have lost four straight and seven of eight.
Henton, the reigning Big East Rookie of the Week, scored a career-high 21 points to lead Providence. Henton has topped his previous career high in consecutive games -- he had 19 in Monday's win over Brown.
Vincent Council added 17 points and eight assists for the Friars.
After trailing throughout the second half, Boston College pulled within 49-48 with eight minutes left. But the Friars extended the lead with a 7-0 run, and the Eagles never got that close again.
Freshman Ryan Anderson scored 16 points off the bench to lead the Eagles, and Dennis Clifford added 10 off the bench. The starters combined for only 31 points on 8-of-34 shooting.
Boston College was 8 of 20 from 3-point range. The Eagles have made at least five 3-pointers in every game this season.
