Brendan McKillop scored 20 points to lead Davidson to a 69-67 win over Nebraska, Friday at the Honda Puerto Rico Tip-off in San Juan.
In a tight, competitive contest, Nebraska led by two at halftime. Davidson rallied back in the second half behind McKillop, who drained one his six 3-pointers to put the Wildcats up six at the 10-minute mark. Davidson would not trail again.
Nebraska got within one twice with under a minute, but turned the ball over late on a key possession and suffered its second straight defeat in the tournament.
The Wildcats (1-2) advance in the loser's bracket and will face the winner of Western Kentucky and Hofstra on Sunday. The Cornhuskers (2-2) will face the loser of that game Sunday.
Nebraska went 2 of 11 from 3-point range, after missing all 10 3-point attempts in a first-round loss to Vanderbilt. Lance Jeter led the Cornhuskers with 18 points, and Christian Standhardinger came off the bench for 14.
Jake Cohen added 19 for Davidson, which hit 11 3-pointers.
