Jordan Hamilton scored 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting and added nine rebounds as No. 3 Texas dominated Oklahoma in Norman, 68-52, on Wednesday.
Gary Johnson added 14 points and Dogus Balbay chipped in 12 for the Longhorns (21-3, 9-0 Big 12), who have won nine straight and continued on the course toward a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Texas shot 63 percent (17 of 27) in the first half and never trailed, opening with a 9-2 spurt and stretching it out to 44-28 at the break as Johnson and Balbay combined for eight points in the final 2:37.
The Longhorns would push the lead to as much as 58-36 on Hamilton’s layup with 12:02 remaining in the game and coasted to the finish, never letting the lead slip to less than 14 points.
Andrew Fitzgerald finished with 16 points to lead the Sooners (12-11, 4-5), who shot just 32 percent (18 of 56) against one of the premier defenses in the country.
Texas heads home for two straight games and will not face a ranked team the rest of the way, with a trip to Baylor in the finale looming as the biggest obstacle to a perfect conference regular season.
