Missouri ran out to a big lead en route to a 98-58 victory over visiting North Alabama on Wednesday in its final tuneup for the Big 12 season.
Kim English scored 20 points for the No. 8 Tigers (14-1), who scored the game’s first seven points, led by double digits five minutes in and carried a 57-31 lead into halftime.
Missouri will turn its attention to the ultra-tough Big 12, which boast five of the top 17 teams in the poll. The Tigers open at Colorado on Saturday.
The Tigers hit the conference opener after a strong showing in the non-conference portion of their schedule. Missouri’s only loss came to No. 14 Georgetown on Nov. 30, a 111-102 defeat. The Tigers have won nine straight since, including the past seven by an average of 28.1 points.
Justin Safford and Laurence Bowers added 16 points each for Missouri.
Beaumont Beasley scored 13 points for the Division II Lions (6-9).
