North Carolina State clamped down on Alabama A&M in an 82-51 win Tuesday afternoon in Raleigh, N.C.
The Wolfpack defense held the visiting Bulldogs without a 3-pointer and to 32 percent shooting overall.
Scott Wood led four North Carolina State players in double figures with 18. C.J. Leslie and Ryan Harrow each had 14 points, and C.J. Williams added 10 for the Wolfpack (8-4, 0-0 ACC), which shot 55.8 percent in a dominating performance.
Casey Cantey led Alabama A&M (3-6, 0-0 SWAC) with 14 points. The
Bulldogs missed all 15 of their 3-point attempts, trailed by 22 at
halftime and never challenged.
North Carolina State has won four straight and has two more tune-up games against small-conference competition before opening ACC play at home against Wake Forest on Jan. 8.
