Indiana State got off to a fast start and was never threatened in its 73-51 victory over visiting DePaul in a non-conference game Wednesday.
Dwayne Lathan scored a game-high 22 points, including 12 in the first half, and Jake Kelly scored 10 for Indiana State (4-5), which snapped a two-game losing streak.
The Sycamores led 32-14 at the half as the Blue Demons (3-5) shot 22 percent (5 for 22) in the opening 20 minutes. The Blue Demons came out of their shooting slump in the second half as they shot 56 percent (14 for 25), but were unable to put a dent in the Sycamores’ lead.

Cleveland Melvin scored 15 points and Tony Freeland had 10 for the Blue Demons, who were 12 for 22 from the free-throw line.
DePaul, which had a two-game winning streak snapped, has four straight home games before opening its Big East Conference slate at Cincinnati.
