Oklahoma State 63, Texas Christian 45: Marcus Smart and Markel Brown scored 14 points apiece as the host Cowboys pulled away late in the first half of the Big 12 game.

Brown added six rebounds and five assists for Oklahoma State (11-3, 1-1). Le’Bryan Nash scored 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting and grabbed six rebounds while Philip Jurick hauled in a game-high 10 rebounds.

Garlon Green scored 20 points to lead TCU (9-6, 0-2), including 14 of their first 19 points in the opening half. Kyan Anderson was the only other Horned Frogs player in double figures, finishing with 10 points.

The Cowboys, who dropped out of the USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll after losses last week to No. 8 Gonzaga and No. 23 Kansas State, scored seven straight points to take their first double-digit lead with 6:53 remaining in the first half.

They stretched the advantage to 36-22 at the break, then scored the first five points of the second half to go up by 19.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Green came in 10 points short of 1,000 for his career. He’s the 31st player to reach that milestone in TCU history and the 20th to have at least 1,000 points and 400 rebounds. … Oklahoma State outrebounded TCU 40-17. … The Horned Frogs entered the game giving up an average of 57 points, which ranked 11th nationally. Oklahoma State came in averaging 71.4 points.
