Arizona State 87, Cal State Northridge 76: Center Jordan Bachynski registered the first triple-double in school history to lead the host Sun Devils past the Matadores.

Bachynski, a 7-2 junior from Calgary, finished with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 12 blocks as Arizona State improved to 8-1 for only the fourth time in the last 38 seasons. He captured the triple-double with a short jump hook with 15:09 remaining that increased the Sun Devils' lead to 55-41.

Sophomore swingman Stephan Hicks scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Cal State Northridge (7-3), which never got closer than eight points in the second half.

Freshman point guard Jahii Carson (21 points), junior guard Evan Gordon (20), senior forward Carrick Felix (17) and sophomore forward Jonathan Gilling (12) also reached double figures for the Sun Devils, marking the third time this season Arizona State had five players finish in double digits in scoring in a game.

Bachynski's triple-double was the first in the Pac-12 since USC guard Daniel Hackett scored 22 points to go with 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a 85-75 win at South Carolina on Nov. 17, 2007.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bachynski entered the game second in the nation in blocks per game (4.75) behind Kansas' Jeff Withey (5.7). ... Bachynski also had nine blocks in a Nov. 10 win over Central Arkansas. ... The Sun Devils have yet to allow an opponent to shoot 50 percent from the floor.
