Ducks 3, Bruins 2: Matt Beleskey's third goal in four games early in the third period proved to be the winner as host Anaheim halted its brief two-game slide.

Defenseman Sami Vatanen and Devante Smith-Pelly also scored for the Ducks, who had lost two straight in regulation for the first time this season. Frederik Andersen bounced back from a rough outing at San Jose by making 32 saves.

Brad Marchand and Simon Gagne tallied for the Bruins, who began a four-game road trip with their third loss in four overall contests (1-2-1). Tuukka Rask turned aside 25 shots in a losing effort.

After a scoreless first period, Boston got on the board midway through the second as Marchand buried a shot from the low slot after Andersen had blocked David Pastrnak's cross-crease pass attempt. Vatanen evened the contest 57 seconds later by knocking in the rebound of Patrick Maroon's left-point shot and Smith-Pelly tipped defenseman Cam Fowler's blast from the blue line past Rask with 22 seconds remaining in the session to give Anaheim the lead.

Beleskey made it 3-1 at 4:43 of the third, beating Rask high to the glove side from the top of the left faceoff circle immediately after captain Ryan Getzlaf won a draw. Daniel Paille set up Gagne on the doorstep from the bottom of the right circle halfway through the period, but Boston was unable to get the equalizer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Beleskey's goal was his career-best 12th of the season, eclipsing his previous high set in 2009-10. ... Gagne's goal resulted in his 600th career point. ... Anaheim recalled G Igor Bobkov from Norfolk of the American Hockey League earlier in the day to serve as Andersen's backup as Jason LaBarbera sat out with an upper-body injury. ... Vatanen was on the ice for Boston's second goal but did not play afterward due to an undisclosed injury.
