Niklas Kronwall scored on the power play at 3:42 of overtime Monday to give the Detroit Red Wings a 4-3 a victory over the host Colorado Avalanche and Chris Osgood his 400th career win.
Osgood, who made 46 saves, is 400-216-29, with 66 ties, and became the 10th goaltender in NHL history to reach the milestone. Grant Fuhr is ninth with 403 victories.
Nicklas Lidstrom scored with 5:23 remaining to give the Red Wings a 3-2 lead before Matt Duchene’s second goal of the game – on the power play with 2:36 to go – tied the game 3-3.
Lidstrom also had three assists as the Red Wings (23-9-4) scored all their goals with a man advantage.
Duchene and TJ Galiardi gave the Avalanche leads in the first period, but Jiri Hudler and Johan Franzen tied the game as the teams scored four goals in the first 12:32.
Colorado (19-13-4), which has lost three straight all at home, was 1-for-7 on the power play, and has allowed eight goals in its last 16 short-handed situations.
The Avalanche outshot the Red Wings 49-30, and had a season-high 23 shots in the second period.
The Red Wings played on back-to-back nights for the sixth time this season. They are 6-0-0 in first games, and 3-2-1 on the second night.
