Guard Michael Gbinjie scored 20 points to lead Syracuse to a 74-67 victory over No. 25 Texas A&M in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament championship on Friday in the Bahamas.
Gbinjie, who made four 3-pointers and had four assists, was named the tournament MVP. Guard Malachi Richardson scored 16 points for Syracuse, which shot 44 percent on 3-pointers, and guard Trevor Cooney added 15.
The game featured nine ties and 12 lead changes before the Orange (6-0) outscored the Aggies (6-1) 13-6 in the final 5:38 to secure the victory.
Swingman Jalen Jones had a game-high 23 points and six rebounds and guard Danuel House, who was named to the all-tournament team, scored 15 points.
