Jalen Jones refused to let Texas A&M wilt on Saturday and the end result was an improbable come-from-behind victory.

The senior forward had 27 points and seven rebounds as the No. 21 Aggies used a late rally to overcome a double-digit deficit and upend Tennessee 92-88 in Southeastern Conference play at Knoxville, Tenn.

Jones scored six points during an 11-0 burst and later connected on the tie-breaking jumper with 1:28 remaining as Texas A&M increased its winning streak to six games.

"As a senior, I have to keep my motor at a high level for the younger guys to show them that I'm always giving my all, so when they get in the game they can give it their all as well," Jones told the SEC Network after the victory.

"I just try to play as hard as I can when I'm out there for 40 minutes -- or longer if we go to overtime -- and give it all I've got."

That formula worked on an afternoon in which senior guard Danuel House also played well with 23 points for the Aggies (13-2, 3-0 in the SEC).

Senior guard Alex Caruso contributed 13 points, seven assists and five steals, freshman center Tyler Davis scored 11 points and senior guard Anthony Collins had nine assists for Texas A&M.

"We were very fortunate," Texas A&M coach Billy Kennedy said. "I'm proud of our guys. I feel like we stole a win just by hanging tough and sticking together."

Senior guard Kevin Punter scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half for the Volunteers (8-7, 1-2).

Freshman forward Admiral Schofield added 16 points and freshman guard Shembari Phillips had a season-high 15 points, while senior guard Devon Baulkman and sophomore guard Detrick Mostella each added 11 points.

Tennessee committed a season-worst 18 turnovers while losing at home for the first time in nine games this season. The Volunteers missed eight of their last nine shots from the field.

"We had a chance, but we just didn't take care of the ball," Tennessee coach Rick Barnes said. "When you have a lead, your offense has to take care of the ball."

The Aggies were staring at defeat when they trailed by 10 points with 4:13 to play before Jones took over during the run of 11 straight points.

Jones' tip-in off a free-throw miss pulled Texas A&M to within one and Davis scored the go-ahead basket with 2:08 remaining.

Schofield split two free throws to tie the score but Jones hit a jumper and Collins hit two free throws to give the Aggies an 89-85 lead with 45.7 seconds to play.

Punter drained a 3-pointer with 31 seconds left to lift the Volunteers within one but one free throw by Caruso and two more by House sealed the win.

"It's a tough loss," Barnes said. "The way we turned it over led to too many easy baskets for them. I told our guys that we are a good basketball team. If we want to win, we have to understand taking care of the ball."

Texas A&M was within six points early in the second half before Tennessee rattled off the next seven, with Punter's 3-pointer making it 56-43 with 17:09 left.

The Aggies again cut their deficit to six on a 3-pointer by Collins with 12:38 remaining but another 3-pointer by Punter gave the Volunteers a 69-59 lead with 10:49 to play.

On three more occasions, Texas A&M trimmed the margin to six without getting closer. Punter's two free throws made it 84-74 with 4:13 remaining before the Aggies erupted with their decisive 11-0 charge to leave the Volunteers disappointed.

"I feel like my mindset is it doesn't matter how old you are, how big you are, everybody's got to compete," Schofield said. "In those last six minutes, we didn't compete to the best of our ability."

Schofield scored 13 first-half points on 5-of-5 shooting as the Volunteers led 46-38 at the break.

Tennessee moved ahead by scoring 12 consecutive points, with Mostella and Baulkman knocking down back-to-back 3-pointers to cap the run and make it 22-10.

The Aggies answered a short time later with a 9-0 burst to move within 25-22 with 8:34 left in the half.

The Volunteers responded with an 11-2 surge and Schofield's 3-pointer increased the advantage to 36-24 with 6:07 remaining in the half.

Texas A&M cut the lead to six late in the half before Mostella's driving basket with 1.3 seconds left gave Tennessee the eight-point halftime edge.
