Ole Miss 86, Auburn 79: LaDarius White scored 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting as the visiting Rebels defeated the Tigers for their fifth consecutive SEC victory.

Stefan Moody added 15 points as Ole Miss (16-7, 7-3 SEC) shot 57.8 percent from the field. Jarvis Summers chipped in 13 points and seven assists, Sebastian Saiz scored 11 points and Anthony Perez added 10 points.

Antoine Mason scored 23 points and KT Harrell added 16 for Auburn (11-12, 3-7), which has lost five of its last six games. Cinmeon Bowers contributed 11 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists, Tahj Shamsid-Deen scored 13 points and Malcolm Canada added 12.

The Tigers trailed by two points before White drained a 3-pointer to start a 7-2 run and give Ole Miss a 71-64 lead with 4:11 remaining and the advantage was stretched to nine on two free throws by Summers with 2:35 left. Auburn cut its deficit to five points on four occasions but the Rebels protected the lead by making 10-of-12 free throws over the final 90 seconds.

Auburn held a 32-31 halftime lead despite shooting just 31 percent from the field before Ole Miss used an 11-4 surge early in the second half to take a 50-43 lead on White’s 3-pointer with 13:24 remaining. The Rebels were up nine when Moody drained a 3-pointer with 8:24 left before the Tigers rattled off seven straight points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Rebels entered the contest leading the nation in free-throw shooting at 79.9 percent but they were just 28-of-38 (73.7 percent) on Saturday. … The double-double was the 14th of the season for Bowers. … Perez also had five rebounds and three steals for Ole Miss.
