Ole Miss 71, Coastal Carolina 68: LaDarius White scored 16 of his career-high 26 points in the second half and was 6-of-8 from 3-point range to help the host Rebels erase a 17-point deficit and defeat the Chanticleers.
Jarvis Summers snapped out a slump by shooting 6-of-12 from the field en route to 16 points as Ole Miss (7-3), which trailed by as many as 13 in the second half, improved to 3-3 at home. Stefan Moody scored 11 and Aaron Jones grabbed nine rebounds for the Rebels, who were 16-of-19 from the free-throw line.
Shivaughn Wiggins and Elijah Wilson scored 19 points apiece for Coastal Carolina (8-3), which shot 31.6 percent from the field in the second half after converting 66.7 percent prior to the break. Josh Cameron scored 15 points, but missed a 3-pointer that would have tied it with 9.1 seconds remaining, for the Chanticleers.
Coastal Carolina, which defeated Auburn 58-54 on Dec. 5, converted 8-of-11 from 3-point range and led 37-20 in the first half behind 14 points from Wiggins and 11 from Wilson before Ole Miss trimmed the deficit to 41-28 at the break. Summers scored six points during an 11-3 run which brought the Rebels to within 51-47 and capped a 9-0 surge with a baseline floater to put Ole Miss on top 56-53 with 7:37 remaining.
White scored five straight points - including his career-high sixth 3-pointer - and Summers' jumper with 1:32 to play capped a 7-0 run and gave the Rebels a 66-60 lead. Wiggins' steal - his sixth - and free throw with 57.2 seconds left made it 66-66, and after Moody converted a pair of free throws with 55.9 seconds to go, Coastal Carolina's Tristian Curtis was called for an illegal pick with 38.7 seconds left before Cameron missed and Moody sealed it with two free throws.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Ole Miss redshirt sophomore Terry Brutus, a 6-6 forward, played for the first time since suffering a torn ACL in the Rebels' 76-74 loss to La Salle in the NCAA Tournament on March 24, 2013 and recorded an assist in four minutes. ... Badou Diagne recorded nine points and 10 rebounds for Coastal Carolina, which fell to 4-15 against the SEC. ... Summers, who leads active SEC players in wins (73) and points (1,354), scored 17 points while shooting 4-for-30 from the field in his previous three games.
