Boston College 62, No. 1 Syracuse 59 (OT): Olivier Hanlan scored 20 points and Lonnie Jackson made four late free throws as the visiting Eagles recorded the upset of the college basketball season by handing the Orange their first loss.

After winning its last two games in the final seconds, Syracuse (25-1, 12-1 ACC) shot only 32.3 percent - including 2-of-12 from 3-point range - against a team second-to-last in the league and which entered having lost five straight games and 12 of its last 14. Boston College (7-19, 3-10) made 11-of-22 3-pointers and 9-of-10 foul shots, including 4-of-4 by Jackson in the final 30 seconds.

Jackson finished with 10 points while Ryan Anderson contributed nine points and 14 boards for the Eagles. C.J. Fair led the Orange with 20 points and 11 rebounds but shot only 7-of-23, and Tyler Ennis had 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists for Syracuse.

The Orange scored the first five points of the second half to lead 30-17 and still led 35-26 with just under 14 minutes left before enduring a field-goal drought of nearly eight minutes, during which the Eagles rallied to move ahead. Jerami Grant and Hanlan exchanged late layups before Rakeem Christmas' jump hook was off the mark, sending the game to overtime, where Boston College got early 3-pointers form Hanlan and Patrick Heckmann to go up 56-52.

Syracuse scored the next five points before Heckmann's layup put the Eagles ahead with 43 seconds left. Christmas' tip-in got the Orange within 60-59 with 13.1 seconds to play, but Jackson - a 56.3 percent foul shooter - made two more free throws and Trevor Cooney airballed a 3-pointer in the final seconds as the Eagles players celebrated on the Carrier Dome court.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Syracuse C Baye Moussa Keita, who had missed the last two games with a sprained knee, returned to action but played only two minutes in the first half. ... Fair paced all players with 12 first-half points as the Orange led 25-17 at intermission. ... It was Boston College's first win over a No. 1-ranked team since defeating North Carolina in 2009.
