No. 11 Creighton 74, Missouri State 52: Doug McDermott poured in a season-high 39 points as the Bluejays pulled away in the second half to earn a road victory over the Bears.

Creighton (16-1, 5-0 Missouri Valley) trailed 25-23 with 3:52 to play in the first half but closed on a 9-2 run to take a 32-27 halftime lead. McDermott then scored the Bluejays' first 18 points of the second half as Creighton pushed out to a 50-32 advantage with 12:53 to play.

Missouri State closed to within 14 with 9:38 to go, but McDermott had 10 points in a 12-5 run that boosted the margin to 21 with just under five minutes to play.

McDermott hit 15 of 19 field-goal attempts, including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc, and also grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds. Jahenns Manigat added 11 points for the Bluejays, who shot 57.4 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from 3-point range.

Keith Pickens led Missouri State (5-12, 3-2) with 11 points, while Anthony Downing and Gavin Thurman each chipped in with 10.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Creighton won its second straight over Missouri State after the Bears had won the previous six meetings. … Missouri State dropped to 0-10 on the season when getting outrebounded by the opposition, losing Friday's board battle 33-20. … The Bluejays return home to face Northern Iowa on Tuesday. The Bears play Wednesday at Indiana State.
