No. 22 Oklahoma State 61, South Florida 49: Marcus Smart recorded 15 points and Philip Jurick grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds as the Cowboys outlasted the visiting Bulls.

Markel Brown added 13 points for Oklahoma State (6-1), including a 3-pointer that ignited a 9-0 run to give the Cowboys a 12-point lead with 10:48 remaining. Smart later made a 3-pointer, followed immediately by a steal and an assist to push the Cowboys’ lead to 48-34.

Jurick also matched his career high with seven points while Smart contributed six rebounds, five assists and four steals for the Cowboys, who dominated on the backboards (38-23).

Victor Rudd scored 14 points and Anthony Collins added 12 for South Florida (5-3), which had its three-game win streak snapped. The Bulls shot 34 percent from the field.

South Florida held an 11-9 lead after eight minutes before the Cowboys put together a 9-0 run, capped by a Phil Forte 3-pointer. Smart had nine points in the opening 20 minutes as Oklahoma State settled for a 24-19 halftime advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Collins had his streak of 10-plus assist games snapped, dishing out four. … Oklahoma State’s leading scorer Le’Bryan Nash, averaging 19 points, was held to six on 1-of-4 from the field. … South Florida allowed more than 60 points for just the fourth time in 21 games.
