Stephen Curry led a balanced attack with 15 points and the Golden State Warriors set a season low for points allowed Friday night in their 97-84 victory over the visiting Charlotte Hornets in San Francisco.
It was the first time this season that the Warriors won when scoring fewer than 102 points. Golden State, playing the second game of a back-to-back set, held the Hornets to 36.4 percent shooting from the floor and 28.2 percent from beyond the arc.
Charlotte had won its previous four games, averaging 115.8 points.
The Hornets fell to 0-16 this season when held under 100 points. The 84 points equaled their second fewest this season, two more than they scored against the Philadelphia 76ers in December.
The Warriors, who won for the eighth time in their past nine games, built a 14-point lead at halftime despite scoring just 43 points.
The Hornets had shot 4-for-16 from beyond the arc in the first half and finished the game 11-for-39.
Curry shot 5-for-14 from the floor, including 3-for-11 on 3-pointers.
Andrew Wiggins, who turned 29 on Friday, chipped in with 14 points. Klay Thompson and Brandin Podziemski had 13 points apiece and Gary Payton II scored 12.
Draymond Green finished with 13 rebounds and Jonathan Kuminga had six points, seven rebounds and six assists.
Miles Bridges paced the Hornets with a game-high 19 points and added 11 rebounds. Nick Richards chipped in with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Brandon Miller added 11 points, five assists and four steals. Tre Mann, Grant Williams and Vasilije Micic put up 10 points apiece for the Hornets, who faced the Warriors for the first time this season.
