Hawks 91, 76ers 85: Al Horford had 23 points and 11 rebounds as Atlanta held off visiting Philadelphia for its 19th consecutive victory.
Paul Millsap added 15 points and eight rebounds and Dennis Schroder scored 15 off the bench with six assists for the Hawks. Kyle Korver shot 4-for-6 from 3-point range and finished with 14 points and Jeff Teague had 10 points and seven assists for Atlanta, which has won 33 of its last 35 games.
Michael Carter-Williams, Jerami Grant and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute scored 13 points apiece for the 76ers. Hollis Thompson started the second half in place of JaKarr Sampson and scored 12 points and Robert Covington finished with 10 points and nine rebounds for Philadelphia.
The 76ers came all the way back from 21 down to take an 83-81 lead with 2:51 left on a dunk by Nerlens Noel, but Schroder put the Hawks back out front for good with a 3-pointer from the top of the key that broke a tie at 83 with 1:35 on the clock. Philadelphia missed on the other end, the Hawks got an offensive rebound off a missed 3 and Horford hit a jumper with 47 seconds left to put Atlanta on top by five and the 76ers were out of comebacks.
The 76ers tied the score at 10 with 6:52 left in the first quarter on a basket by Noel, but those would be the last points of the quarter for Philadelphia, as the Hawks finished on a 12-0 run to take a 22-10 lead into the second. Atlanta led by as much as 47-26 with 2:59 left in the first half before taking a 15-point lead into the break, and the 76ers continued to chip away in the second half.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Atlanta is the second NBA team all-time to win 17 games in single month and the first to go 17-0. … The Atlanta Hawks matched the fifth-longest winning streak in NBA history. … Philadelphia was trying to win three in a row for the first time in nearly 13 months.
