Jose Ramirez hit a grand slam in the first inning and a two-run homer in the second, and the visiting Cleveland Indians belted a season-high seven home runs while rolling to a 19-5 victory over the New York Yankees on Thursday night.

Carlos Santana hit two homers and a double and scored four times for Cleveland, which improved to 44-19 since June 4. Every Indians starter had a multi-hit game, and every starter except Franmil Reyes scored a run.

Cleveland amassed 24 hits, its highest total since collecting 25 hits in a 22-4 win at Yankee Stadium on April 18, 2009.

Ramirez sparked the Indians' seven-run first inning off Chad Green (2-4) and Jonathan Loaisiga by hitting his first career grand slam. Ramirez recorded his 11th career multi-homer game by clobbering Green's full-count fastball in the first to make it 4-0 and Loaisiga's 1-1 changeup in the second to make it 9-1.

Jason Kipnis followed Ramirez's first homer with a solo drive off a 3-2 fastball, knocking out Green, who made his 12th appearance as an opener.

Roberto Perez capped the 29-minute inning with a two-run homer.

Greg Allen collected four hits, four runs and four RBIs for the Indians. He hit a three-run homer in Cleveland's five-run eighth off Yankees designated hitter Mike Ford. Yasiel Puig contributed a two-run single in the seventh, and Francisco Lindor had an RBI single in the eighth.

Cleveland starter Adam Plutko (5-3) allowed three runs on six hits in six innings. He struck out three, walked one and threw 103 pitches.

Gio Urshela had a pair of RBI singles for the Yankees, who saw a five-game winning streak end.

Didi Gregorius, Gary Sanchez and Gleyber Torres hit solo homers for the Yankees, who lost for only the third time in their past 17 games.

Green was torched for five runs on four hits while getting one out. He threw 35 pitches to six hitters. Loaisiga allowed four runs on four hits in 2 2/3 innings.

The game got so out of the hand for the Yankees that Ford pitched the final two innings. The former Princeton pitcher reached the high 80s with his fastball velocity before throwing mostly curveballs. He received a loud ovation from those whose stayed when he showed a 53 mph breaking ball.
