White Sox 9, Twins 2:
Dayan Viciedo homered and had three RBIs and Adam Dunn also went deep as visiting Chicago completed a three-game sweep of Minnesota.

Jake Peavy (11-11) allowed two runs and four hits in six innings to beat the Twins for the fourth straight time. The White Sox lead the American League Central by two games over the Detroit Tigers, who lost to the Cleveland Indians on Sunday.

Dunn hit a solo homer – his 39th – and added a run-scoring single during Chicago’s six-run sixth inning that turned a 3-2 lead into a seven-run margin. Viciedo belted a two-run, second-deck homer off Twins starter Scott Diamond (11-8) during the uprising.

Viciedo also delivered a run-scoring double in the fourth that gave the White Sox a 3-1 advantage. Minnesota pulled within a run on back-to-back doubles by Trevor Plouffe and Alexi Casilla.

Joe Mauer returned from a back injury to homer for Minnesota, which has lost five of six games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Chicago is 14-4 against Minnesota this season and has won 23 of the last 29 meetings. … Mauer was in the lineup for the first time since Monday. He played first base and Ryan Doumit, who was returning from an oblique injury, started behind the plate. ... Diamond allowed six runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.
