Shohei Ohtani tied the game with a home run to lead off the ninth inning and Mookie Betts followed with a game-ending blast as the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied for a 6-5 victory over the visiting Colorado Rockies on Sunday.

Ohtani, the favorite to become the first primary designated hitter to win an MVP award, had four hits with two stolen bases. His home run gave him 53 on the season to go along with 55 steals.

Teoscar Hernandez and Enrique Hernandez also hit home runs as the Dodgers (93-63) remained three games ahead of the San Diego Padres in the National League West with six games to play. The Dodgers and Padres open a three-game series at Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Brendan Rodgers and Nolan Jones each drove in two runs for the Rockies (60-96), who need three wins in their last six games to avoid a second consecutive 100-loss season. Rockies right-hander Antonio Senzatela gave up one run and five hits over five innings in his second start since returning from Tommy John surgery.

Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto, in his third start since returning from a rotator cuff strain, struggled while giving up four runs on five hits over three innings with three walks. Five Dodgers pitchers combined for a season-high 17 strikeouts.

Dodgers right-hander Blake Treinen (7-3) struck out three in the ninth inning to earn the win. Rockies right-hander Seth Halvorsen (2-1) gave up both home runs in the ninth inning to take the loss.

The Rockies jumped on Yamamoto early, loading the bases four batters into the game on two singles and a walk. Rodgers had a two-run single and two batters later, Jones gave Colorado a 3-0 lead on a groundout to first base.

The Rockies made it 4-0 in the third inning on a two-out RBI single to left field from Jones, who had multiple RBIs for the first time in his last 17 games.

Teoscar Hernandez got the Dodgers on the scoreboard in the fourth inning with a solo home run, his 31st. But the Rockies took a 5-1 lead in the sixth on an RBI double from Hunter Goodman.

Los Angeles scored three times in the seventh to pull within 5-4 on a two-run home run from Enrique Hernandez, his 11th, and an RBI single from Freddie Freeman following an Ohtani single and steal.
