Joe Ryan pitched seven shutout innings, Byron Buxton hit two of Minnesota's four home runs and the visiting Twins routed the Washington Nationals 10-0 on Tuesday to snap a seven-game losing streak.
Jose Miranda and Willi Castro also homered for the Twins, who ended their longest losing streak since an eight-game skid in April 2018. Minnesota scored a total of 12 runs during the skid.
Ryan (3-3) allowed three hits and two walks while striking out six as he bounced back from a loss to the Yankees when he allowed four runs in 5 1/3 innings last Thursday.
Washington starter Patrick Corbin (1-5) gave up eight runs on nine hits -- three of them home runs -- and three walks over six innings. He struck out three and saw his ERA climb to 6.29.
Jacob Young had two of Washington's three hits. The Nationals, who scored 12 runs on Monday night to snap their own five-game losing streak, were shut out for the fifth time this season.
Buxton homered leading off the second inning to make it 1-0. Castro followed with a walk, went to third on Kyle Farmer's single and scored when Carlos Santana grounded into a double play.
Manuel Margot reached on an infield single leading off the third and stole second. With two outs, Miranda homered to left for a 4-0 lead.
Ryan retired the first eight Nationals batters before Young's third-inning single.
The Twins' Carlos Correa walked with one out in the fifth. Buxton struck again two batters later with a two-out home run to center to make it 6-0.
In the Minnesota seventh, Farmer walked, stole second and scored on Santana's double to left. Santana went to third on a ground out and scored on a wild pitch by Corbin to increase the lead to 8-0.
With Jacob Barnes taking over for Corbin in the sevenths, Max Kepler walked with one out and Castro homered to right-center to make it 10-0.
