Jaren Jackson Jr. poured in 31 points and the Memphis Grizzlies hit their stride in the fourth quarter to beat the host Los Angeles Lakers 127-113 on Friday night.
Jackson added nine rebounds and three blocks as Memphis won for just the second time in its past six games. The Grizzlies also got 29 points from Marcus Smart, who knocked down eight 3-pointers.
LeBron James netted 32 points and Anthony Davis had 31 for the Lakers, who have lost four straight games and nine of their past 11.
After Los Angeles' Austin Reaves sank a jumper to make it 103-103 with 7:41 left in the game, Memphis made its move.
The Grizzlies created some separation with an 11-2 run, taking a 114-105 lead with 5:16 to play.
When Smart cashed in on his eighth triple with 2:44 left, Memphis found itself up by 11, and Desmond Bane later sealed the victory with a trey of his own to put the game out of reach.
Bane finished with 24 points and a career-high 13 assists, and Ja Morant chipped in 21 points to go along with seven helpers.
Reaves flirted with a triple-double for Los Angeles, going for 19 points, a career-best 12 assists and seven boards.
Jackson dropped in a layup 19 seconds into the third quarter, putting the Grizzlies up 60-59 -- their first lead since it was 22-19.
Things later got heated with 6:21 remaining in the third and the score tied at 75.
James and Jackson went for a loose ball, and as James secured possession, he hit Jackson in the chin with his forearm before sending a pass to Taurean Prince.
Once Prince got the ball, he looked to get the Lakers going in transition, but Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins stepped onto the court and berated the referees because of the lack of a foul call.
Jenkins was issued a technical but did not end up getting tossed from the game.
Los Angeles built a six-point cushion just over two minutes later, but the teams ended up going into the fourth tied at 94.
The Lakers scored 19 of the final 26 points of the first quarter to open up a 38-29 advantage.
Prince's trey with 8:07 left in the second put Los Angeles up by 13, but Memphis steadily clawed its way back, pulling within 59-58 by the break.
