LeBron James had 29 points, seven rebounds and six assists, but it was the defense that was the star on Monday as the Miami Heat took a 2-0 lead in their first-round playoff series with a 94-73 demolition of the visiting Philadelphia 76ers.

Chris Bosh added 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Dwyane Wade overcame a migraine to score 14 in 34 minutes for the Heat, who head to Philadelphia on Thursday looking to take a commanding lead in the best-of-seven series.

After allowing the 76ers to jump out to a quick lead in Game 1, Miami came out with a defensive mindset right from the start in Game 2. Philadelphia managed four field goals and 13 points in the first quarter, and went into the break down 49-31.

The Heat limited the 76ers to 25.6 percent shooting in the first half.

Thaddeus Young scored 18 points for the 76ers, who never got closer than 16 points in the third quarter and finished shooting 34.2 percent.
