Mark Teahen had three hits and drove in three runs and the Chicago White Sox struck for four runs in the first inning and made it stand for a 7-2 win over the Cleveland Indians on Monday.
Alex Rios hit his ninth homer of the season and drove in a pair for the Sox, who have won three of their last four.
Indians starter Justin Masterson allowed three of the first-inning runs after there were two outs, including Teahen’s two-run double. Masterson (0-5) was charged with five runs on nine hits in four innings as he remains winless.
John Danks (4-3) won for the first time since April 25, but needed 112 pitches just to survive five innings. He was bailed out by the offense on a night when every starter reached base.
Danks scattered five hits and allowed a pair of runs along with five strikeouts.
The Indians scored their only runs off the left-hander in the fourth when Russell Branyan came home on a groundout and Lou Marson knocked in Jhonny Peralta with a single as the team has dropped seven of their last eight.
