Michael Cuddyer hit a three-run double and Scott Baker pitched seven shutout innings to lead the Minnesota Twins to a 4-0 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Angels on Sunday night.
Cuddyer’s bases-clearing double culminated a four-run fifth inning. Danny Valencia led off the inning with a second-deck homer.
Orlando Hudson tripled with two out and Joe Mauer and Jason Kubel walked before Cuddyer split the alley in left-center field with his double against Angels ace Jered Weaver.
Baker (11-9) gave up five hits and two walks while winning his fourth consecutive decision. Baker struck out four.
Jesse Crain pitched the eighth and Ron Capps the ninth to complete a six-hit shutout.
Minnesota has won 13 of 17 games and leads the Chicago White Sox by five games in the American League Central.
Weaver (11-9) allowed four runs and six hits. He walked four and struck out three.
Alberto Callaspo and Hideki Matsui had two hits apiece for Los Angeles.
