The Mavericks opened the third quarter with a 16-5 charge that featured a pair of 3-pointers by Calderon to extend the lead to as many as 17 before settling on a 72-56 advantage entering the fourth. The Celtics used a late 13-2 surge, led by 3-pointers from Rondo, Green and Johnson, to inch to within 98-89 with 1:18 to play but Calderon answered with a layup to stifle any late threat.
