Suns 104, Pelicans 98: Eric Bledsoe scored 25 points and Gerald Green added 18 as visiting Phoenix held off New Orleans to improve to 3-1.
Green matched a career high with six 3-pointers and Bledsoe went 10-of-12 from the floor to help the Suns shoot 50 percent. Markieff Morris scored 17 points off the bench and Marcus Morris added 16 and nine rebounds for Phoenix.
Eric Gordon poured in 20 points to lead the Pelicans, who got just three points on 1-of-7 shooting from point guard Jrue Holiday. Anthony Davis recorded his third double-double in four games with 17 points and 11 rebounds and added five blocked shots, and Brian Roberts added 17 points off the bench.
The Pelicans led by as many as 14 in the first quarter and were up 45-41 at halftime. The teams traded long runs all night, but New Orleans couldn't come up with a stop when it needed one.
Marcus Morris capped a 16-2 run with a 3-pointer for the Suns, who outscored New Orleans 37-24 in the third and made 13 of their last 15 shots in the period to take control. Anthony Morrow's 3-pointer pulled the Pelicans within 87-85 with 5:26 left, but a quick 6-0 spurt gave Phoenix a cushion and it didn't get closer than five the rest of the way.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Suns PG Goran Dragic sat out with an ankle injury and is expected to miss Wednesday's game at San Antonio. … Green has made four or more 3-pointers in consecutive games for the first time in his career. He is 11-for-20 from behind the arc in his past two contests. … Davis is the first player for the New Orleans franchise with five or more blocks in consecutive games since Chris Andersen in April 2005.
