It's the ninth five-point game of McDavid's NHL career, surpassing Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins for the most among active NHL players.

Zach Hyman had two goals and an assist, Leon Draisaitl and Evander Kane each had a goal and an assist, Darnell Nurse had three assists and Stuart Skinner made 21 saves for the Oilers, who have won two straight following a three-game losing streak.

Anaheim's Max Jones scored two goals and Lukas Dostal stopped 10 of 16 shots before he was replaced by John Gibson, who finished with eight saves for the Ducks.

Anaheim has lost six in a row.

The Ducks scored the first goal when Jones redirected a pass from Brett Leason off the rush for a 1-0 lead at 3:32 of the first period.

The Ducks turned the puck over in the neutral zone and Connor Brown fed Kane for a one-timer that tied it 1-1 at 4:36.

Jones, who scored one goal through his first 17 games this season, scored his second of the game when a shot was blocked in the slot and he spun and shot the loose puck into the net for a 2-1 lead at 6:10.

McDavid tied it 2-2 at 9:29 of the first when he led a three-on-one breakaway before scoring with a wrist shot for his seventh goal of the season.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored on a breakaway to give Edmonton its first lead 3-2 at 12:37.

The Oilers scored on three of their first four shots.

Hyman extended the lead to 4-2 at 17:50 when he scored with a one-timer from just above the goal line off a feed from McDavid.

James Hamblin scored off the rush after his initial shot was blocked by Ilya Lyubushkin to make it 5-2 at 5:01 of the second period.

McDavid fed Hyman to spring a breakaway and he scored to extend the lead to 6-2 at 7:20 of the second.

Draisaitl scored on a one-timer while on a power play to make it 7-2 at 7:11 of the third period.

McDavid assisted on the goal to give him nine points in the past two games. He recorded four assists in a 5-0 win at the Washington Capitals on Friday.

Mattias Ekholm scored on a power play to make it 8-2 at 15:50.
