Oregon opened up a 16-point first half lead Saturday night and spoiled Pac-12 regular-season champion Washington's senior night with a 55-47 win at Seattle.
Payton Pritchard scored 16 points for the Ducks (19-12, 10-8), who enter the conference tournament with a four-game winning streak. Paul White added 10 despite fouling out with 6:09 remaining in the game.
Jaylen Nowell paced the Huskies (24-7, 15-3) with a game-high 17 points, and Noah Dickerson chipped in a 14-point, 16-rebound double-double. But Washington was completely inept offensively, canning only 33.3 percent of its field-goal tries and going 3 of 20 from the 3-point line.
Oregon put the Huskies away when Louis King tossed in a 25-footer from the left wing as the shot clock expired with 2:10 left in the game, making it 53-44. It was one of just four 3-pointers in 22 attempts for the Ducks, who hit only 42.9 percent of their shots from the field.
The Huskies will be the top seed for the conference tournament, opening play Thursday in Las Vegas against Arizona or USC.
A combination of Oregon defense and inept Washington offense served as the prime storylines of a low-scoring, physical first half. After the Huskies' Matisse Thybulle drilled a 3-pointer at the 14:26 mark to pull them within 8-6, the Ducks limited Washington to a single bucket in the next 11:39.
Oregon didn't exactly light it up offensively in that span but got enough production from the likes of Pritchard and White to build a lead it would live off for the game's remainder. When Pritchard canned a 3-pointer with 5:49 left in the half, the Ducks built a 24-8 advantage.
The Huskies didn't hit double figures until David Crisp sank two free throws with 2:47 remaining in the half but were able to make inroads into the deficit. Dickerson canned two foul shots 42 seconds before intermission to make it a 27-18 game.
