Kansas State 74, North Florida 55: Rodney McGruder totaled 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting as the host Wildcats defeated the Ospreys and cruised to their fourth consecutive win.
Kansas State's fast start mirrored the way it opened last season when the Wildcats (4-0) rolled off five straight wins as part of an 11-1 start.
Freshman Beau Beech led North Florida, establishing a career-high with 15 points in his fourth collegiate game. After a win over Edward Waters to kick of the 2012-13 schedule, the Ospreys (1-3) have now lost three in a row.
Thomas Gipson added 12 points for the Wildcats - his second big game against North Florida in as many seasons. Last year, Gipson recorded 23 points and 12 rebounds in an overtime win for Kansas State.
Nino Williams pitched in 10 points and Angel Rodriguez a game-high six assists for the Wildcats, who jumped out to an 8-2 lead early and never trailed in the game.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Wildcats improved to 3-0 all-time against the Ospreys and have won the three meetings by an average of 18 points... North Florida is 5-13 in its last 18 road games... Kansas State has trounced opponents in the early going, winning its four games by an average of more than 34 points.
