Tony Wroten scored 22 points to lead Washington to a 60-54 Pacific-12 win over Arizona State Thursday at Wells Fargo Arena.

Washington (13-7, 6-2 Pac-12) picked up its ninth win in its last 10 trips to Tempe. Arizona State (6-14, 2-6 Pac-12) dropped its third straight game and has lost 17 of its last 20 meetings with the Huskies.

Wroten made the highlight reels with a huge dunk and foul with just over five minutes remaining, knocking down the free throw for the traditional three-point play. The Pac-12’s leading freshmen scorer was 9-of-12 shooting from the field and added six rebounds in the win.

After Chris Colvin went end to end with six seconds left and scored an acrobatic layup at the buzzer to give Arizona State a 24-22 lead at the break, Washington answered with a 14-1 run in the first six minutes of the second half to take a double-digit lead.

Arizona State struggled offensively in the second half, shooting just 3 for 10 in the first 12 minutes of the period. The Sun Devils were beat up in the paint, getting outscored 34-20.

Jonathan Gilling led the Sun Devils with a career-high 20 points and five rebounds. He knocked down 5 of 12 from beyond the arc. Jordan Bachynski chipped in with nine points and a career-high 13 rebounds off the bench. Colvin finished with 10 points.

Washington shot just 1 for 8 from 3-point range and was 19-of-31 shooting from the free-throw line.

Terrence Ross added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Huskies.

Arizona State leading scorer Trent Lockett sat out with an ankle injury.

Washington guard C.J. Wilcox returned after missing four games with a stress fracture in his left femur. He scored four points in 10 minutes – all coming from the foul line in the final minute.
