Joevan Catron led four Oregon players in double figures with 17 points, and the Ducks led from the start and rolled over visiting Washington State 69-43 Thursday night.
Oregon (11-11, 4-6 Pac-10) improved to 2-1 at the new Matthew Knight Arena, its only loss to UCLA 67-59 on Jan. 15. Jay-R Strowbridge had 15 points and Garrett Sim added 13 for the Ducks.
Klay Thompson, the conference’s leading scorer, scored 12 points on 4-for-13 shooting for Washington State (15-7, 5-5).
The Ducks scored the game’s first five points and raced to a 14-6 lead. Washington State never made a run, and didn’t get closer than five points the rest of the way.
Oregon took a 33-23 advantage into the break as Washington State shot 22 percent in the first half. The Ducks put the game away by opening the second half on an 18-2 run to take a commanding 51-25 lead.
Washington State, which shot 25 percent, had won three of its last four, including a victory over Pac-10 leading Washington.
